		"Apple of My Eye" by Sue Garman 40" X 52" From Sue: This is a realistic pictorial quilt of my granddaughter, Dahlia. It is based on a picture I took of her in front of our house on Galveston beach. She was carrying a bucket of shells, but I changed them to a bucket of apples, which was much brighter. The quilt was one of a set of eight that my guild (Lakeview Quilters Guild) entered in the American Quilters Society "Ultimate Guild Challenge". The set of quilts won first place in the challenge, and our guild received a $1500 award. This endearing quilt is machine pieced and needle turn appliqué using my skin tone fabrics for Dahlia Sue is a master at capturing movement and very effective at highlights and shadows.
